Chip Coleman

Bio
Chip, Founder, CEO, and Director of Performance, brings over 40 years of expertise in sport and human performance. With a background in athletic training, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation across collegiate, Olympic, and professional sports, Chip has cultivated a diverse skill set. His hands-on experience with physical therapy organizations has further enriched his unique approach to optimizing client performance.
A skilled multi-sport athlete turned avid golfer, Chip discovered his passion for the game in 1993. Fascinated by golf’s physical complexity, he embraced the challenge and applied his deep knowledge of biomechanics to elevate his performance—and that of others. Recognizing the potential of fitness in golf performance before it became mainstream, Chip blended his expertise with cutting-edge education and certifications, becoming a pioneer in the field. His dedication earned him a prestigious place on Golf Digest’s “Best Fitness Trainers in America” list.
Renowned for his sharp observation of human movement, Chip is committed to helping clients overcome physical hurdles and reach their full potential. His tailored programs and clear, practical coaching have empowered countless individuals to achieve their goals.
When he’s not coaching, Chip enjoys hitting the golf course, indoor bike racing on Zwift, and working with his hands. Above all, he cherishes time with his wife, Gale, his family, and his two grandchildren.
Ross Henson
MS, ACSM-EP, TPI-F1Fitness Coach
Bio
At Motus Performance, Ross combines his lifelong passion for golf with his in-depth knowledge of fitness and movement to help clients achieve their health and performance goals. With a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Baylor University, Ross is a certified Exercise Physiologist (American College of Sports Medicine) and holds a TPI Fitness Level 1 certification. Inspired by a philosophy of “use it rather than lose it,” Ross strives to make a positive impact coaching individualized programs that enhance mobility, strength, and golf performance.
Ross has firsthand experience with the challenges and rewards of golf. He began playing at a young age into high school, which included a State Championship his senior year, and also played in college. In addition, his background includes leading junior golfers during summer leagues at his local golf course, where he found joy in fostering the next generation of athletes.
While golf is now a recreational activity for him, he has shared memorable moments with his brother who is pursuing a PGA Tour career. One of these experiences included meeting Motus clients at a tour event, which opened the door to moving to Tucson from Hermann, Missouri, and joining the Motus staff.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Ross enjoys cooking, exploring advancements in nutrition and supplements, and researching investment opportunities for his portfolio.
Jacob Riopel
BS, CPT, TPI-F1Fitness Coach
Bio
Jacob grew up competing in team sports, with baseball as his primary focus through high school. He attended the University of Arizona, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences with an emphasis in Human Performance. He is an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, holds a Titleist Performance Institute Fitness Level 1 certification, and continually pursues more education to become a better coach.
Jacob’s approach to training is built on a simple truth: it’s not easy, but it is simple. He believes consistency, balance, and sustainability drive long-term results. Coaching practical programs clients can stick to, he helps them build strength, move better, and improve overall performance. His nutrition background allows him to connect the dots between how a client moves, recovers, and fuels themselves into one cohesive plan.
Whether the goal is increasing consistency, adding distance, staying pain-free through 18 holes, or simply moving better in everyday life, Jacob focuses on delivering purposeful, individualized coaching that fits real life and produces lasting results.
When he’s not coaching, you’ll find Jacob on the course, out fishing, in the gym, or spending time with his girlfriend and family.
Gale Coleman
MS, RDN, CSCSNutrition Coach and COO
Bio
As the Chief Operating Officer, most of Gale’s time is spent on member care, financial areas, and the overall business activities of Motus Performance.
Her background as a CPA, group fitness instructor, women’s fitness club manager (in the Chicago area), personal trainer, and dietitian at the University of Arizona’s Campus Health Service for 20 years give her a unique combination of experiences and training for her work at Motus. Her nutrition career included advanced certifications in sport dietetics and the treatment of eating disorders.
Gale also provides nutrition coaching to members and non-members. As a behavior-based dietitian, she listens to a person’s goals, past experiences, knowledge gained, and the “why” of their goals and current behaviors. A firm believer in the 80-20 Rule, she helps guide her clients to find the right balance of nutritional needs for sport and life.
Reading, walking, and spending time with her family, especially her two small grandchildren, are her favorite activities. Overall, Gale regards her grown children, Kristine Welter Hall and Jeff Welter, her greatest accomplishments.
Kevin Fay
PT, DPT, CSCS, TPI-M3/F2Performance Physical Therapist
Bio
Our in-facility Physical Therapy services are provided by Rehab and Performance Specialists, LP, under the expert care of Kevin Fay, PT, DPT, CSCS, TPI-M3.
Dr. Fay has been in physical therapy practice for 20 years and has been in the fitness and rehab industries since 1999. He specializes in evaluation and treatment of orthopedic, post-operative, and sports-related injuries. Treatments are 1-on-1 with Dr. Fay and are focused on addressing the root causes of a person’s pain or limitation rather than chasing their pain with treatment.
His passion is to help active people move better so that they can feel better allowing them to keep playing their sport, exercising, and staying active their whole life.

Amber Leschak
Executive Assistant
Bio
With 19 years of customer service, management, and graphic design experience, Amber provides robust support for the Motus Performance staff and our members. Her passion for helping people is well served at Motus where she uses her communication, organizational, creative, problem solving, event planning, graphic design, and social media skills to help us provide the outstanding service and environment in which our Motus member community and staff thrives. She is a key player in making Motus a place that people look forward to coming to pursue, maintain, and improve their fitness, long-term health, and, of course, their golf game.
When she’s not working you can find Amber with her husband, stepdaughter, and their two dogs, watching a sunset or a new TV show. She enjoys walks in Sabino Canyon, vacations on ANY beach (but particularly Rocky Point), sewing, and crafts.
