Golf Fitness Trainer

Motus Performance has a unique career opportunity to grow as a fitness professional with a specialization in golf fitness. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, “certified nice person” who is on a professional career path in fitness training and high-level sports performance. This individual will have an opportunity to work with a great staff of professionals with over 40 years of experience in health, fitness, and sports performance in one of the top golf fitness/performance training facilities in the Southwest.

Motus Performance is Tucson’s premier golf-focused fitness training gym in its 9th year of business and is growing. Our recently renovated facility includes a fully equipped gym with two large, high-tech golf hitting bays. We attract high level adult and junior competitive golfers, as well as recreational golfers and active agers, all of whom want to move well, play well, and live well. The Motus staff is highly trained with years of experience in successfully guiding individuals who come from a broad range of abilities, pain levels, and fitness experience to their goals. Our mission is to be the place for expert guidance to gain greater strength, mobility, balance, and power, resulting in more consistency and confidence in movement for golf and life.


Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducts in-depth interviews of a client’s history, motivation, and goals
  • Conducts comprehensive movement and fitness assessments
  • Designs training programs based on clients’ goals and current physical abilities, as determined above
  • Collaborates with other golf and fitness coaches to best serve the client’s golf and personal goals
  • Delivers high-quality coaching of clients’ individualized goal-related, assessment-based training programs
  • Coaches training sessions in a semi-private model
  • Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance at all times

  • Has golf clubs and uses them
  • Is ready, willing, and able to “get stuff done” 
  • Holds a current Certification as a Personal Trainer/Strength Coach or higher by an organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), including, but not limited to NSCA, NASM, ACSM, ACE. If you are an experienced, avid golfer but not yet certified, don’t hesitate to inquire about this position
  • Desires working with and training athletes and individuals of various ages and abilities
  • Holds a current CPR-AED certification or ability to attain one within two months of hiring



  • A Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Fitness Professional Certification Level 1 or higher
  • A USGA GHIN #        
  • Experience in training program design, with basic knowledge or higher of digital fitness training programs
  • A Functional Movement Screen Certification, Level 1 or higher
  • A working knowledge of, or desire to learn, golf performance technology – 2D and 3D Motion Capture, Launch Monitors, Force Plates
  • Experience with scheduling software (Mindbody), digital training program software (Bridge Athletic), Word, and Excel
  • Two years’ experience in one-on-one, semi-private (2-6 individuals), or team training
  • Passion to help grow and develop our Junior Golfers’ program
